All your homeworks in Art will be mini homework projects that relate to the topic you are learning about in class. All your work for your project should be presented all together. This could be in the form of a folder. All your work should be at least A4 in size. You are encouraged to be creative in the way you present your project work. Remember presentation forms an important part of your work. Have fun with it! We look forward to seeing the results of your hard work and there are rewards for the very best!

Project 1 - MASKS PROJECT
For this project you need to chose ONE culture that produces masks - e.g. Chinese, Egyptian, African, Day of the Dead
You then need to complete ALL the tasks below
Homework 1
Produce a tittle page for your project - include your name, form, and the title must be your chosen culture. i.e African masks.
Success Criteria:- This can be done on the computer or by hand. You must include images of your chosen culture mask.
Presentation is also important. Layout your work neatly but in a creative way! Good Luck! Remember we do not accept work on USB pens so if you don't have a printer complete your homework by hand!

Homework 2
Find a image of a mask from your chosen culture that you like. On A4 paper make a detailed drawing of that mask.
Success Criteria: Use any media (paint, colour pencil, pens) to colour in the mask, sketch out the outline making sure every feature/pattern is in proportion and you fill the page. Remember shade and tone.
Create a design for the background to compliment your mask.

Create an information page in the form of a mind map about the masks and culture you have chosen. You must show that you have researched this culture and mask designs. This information can include things like: the materials/colours used in the masks, historical information about the masks and their uses. You must collect images/pictures or make drawings to illustrate your points and add these to your mind-map.
Success Criteria:- YOU MUST WRITE IN YOUR OWN WORDS, DO NOT COPY AND PASTE!
Use colour images if possible, The pictures should illustrate/represent a point on your mindmap. DO NOT COLLECT RANDOM IMAGES. See below for an example.

Write about the shape/form/line/pattern/colour/tone/texture etc. Write about what you like/don't like about this mask. Aim for a page of writing about this mask. Use the key questions from the critical studies guide sheet here to help. it is also in your PEAF booklet.
