You will find a part of that culture that interests you the most and will produce work about it. You may want to include aspects of fashion, buildings, festivals etc)
Your classwork and homework for this unit will require research, drawings, technique work and artist research. Below is a list of both class and homework that you be required to complete.
1 Create a Mind map about your culture as your introduction.
2. Create Visual aid of images about your culture, you can combine this with your mind map or keep it separate.
3. Make good detailed pencil and pen drawings of something from your culture.
4. Create a small painting of something from your culture.
5. Use different media to create work relating to your culture. This will be mostly done in class and completed or improved for homework.
6. Own Photos. You must use your own photographs in order to access the higher grades. You should try to take these as soon as possible. In the marking breakdown these are called primary resources. If you use images off the internet for all your drawings these are called secondary resources and you will not be able to access the higher marks. In order to create appropriate photographs you may need to dress up, use artefacts and costumes you may already have from your chosen culture)
7. Produce a critical study on a relevant artist or art movement.
8. Produce initial designs linking your artists, photographs and drawings. You must annotate your designs and use colour.
9. Produce a final design in your folder.
IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU PLAN AND UTILISE YOUR TIME EFFECTIVELY. POOR MANAGEMENT OF TIME WILL RESULT IN POOR PERFORMANCE. YOU ALL NEED TO GAIN A*-C. YOU ARE ALL CAPABLE OF THIS.
