UNIT 1 : FAST FOOD NATION HOMEWORK BOOKLET
At the end of the project you will need to bind your work to make a booklet. You can either staple your booklet together or hole punch and bind with ribbon or string. Alternatively you can mount your work into a folder. Your project needs to be A4 in size.
1)Create a title page for your new homework project. Include the title 'Fast Food Nation. Think of interesting ways you could fill the space?
Overlap images etc. You can use any media you like ( paint/pens/collage/photography/digital art). How can you use images to convey the idea that we are turning into a fast food nation?
2) Create a mood board of fast food images and the negative effects on the human body. To get a higher level you could take your own photographs.
3) Take a photograph of a fast food item. Think about an interesting angle/composition like the one seen here. Then make a detailed pencil drawing or painting of the photograph or object from real life ( observed study).
4) Produce an informative research page on the artist Roy Lichtenstein. Include images of his work, information and a paragraph explaining what you think of his work and why.
5) Produce a detailed study of your favourite piece of Roy Lichensteins work.
Using the literacy template as a guide ( see critical study sheet on the literacy tab) write a detailed analysis of the Roy Lichtenstein work you decided to study. Write in your own words and present neatly.
7) There are x2 options for this homework and you can select one or if you are feeling adventurous you can complete both! Study the work of Roy Lichenstein a famous pop artist. Print out an image of his work and take a photograph of yourself or friends in a similar pose. Using the computer or felt pen make a drawing of this image. Mount your photograph next to this drawing and evaluate.
The next option (see below) is to paint your face or a friends in Lichen-steins infamous comic book style. You can find lots of inspiration for this on www.pinterest.com. Photograph your model, print out and evaluate!

Design Ideas:. This is a crucial part of the process. Split your page into two sections. You are going to come up with two design ideas for an anti fast food poster in the style of Roy Lichtenstein. You need to include the following for each design:-
- Anti fast food slogan ( based on your research)
- Comic book style figure eating or promoting the negative side of fast food.( Roy Lichtenstein style).
